Northstar Boats set the benchmark for performance and leisure RIBs, with the most comprehensive lineup on the UK market. Designed by British naval architect, Adam Younger, the latest generation of Northstar Boats combine attractive but minimalist styling with class-leading performance, handling and fuel efficiency. Adam Younger, who has designed hulls for the likes of Ribeye, Renegade RIBs and Technohull, has worked closely with Northstar Boats’ in-house design team to create a range of craft that are built with the end-user in mind.
These RIBs benefit from many industry-leading features such a high-freeboard, meaning you sit deep within the boat and feel very safe onboard (especially with young children as they cannot climb out over the tubes). Another added benefit is that you do not get wet because the tubes are that much higher out of the water. Northstar Boats are also noticeably wider than most RIBs, and this beam is carried forward right up to the bow. The benefit is this is that you have a huge amount of deck space relatively to the boat’s length.
VEGA
A single word to describe Northstar's VEGA series is VERSATILITY. Northstar Vegas, up to and including 4.2, have lightweight tender features offering useful storage and seating arrangements on a dry riding hull. Vega 4.8 and up transforms into a sports/utility RIB range which allow users to customise their boat for fishing and other water sports. Wide beams, extra large deck storage spaces, functional seating are some of standard features on VEGAS while options like recirculating live-wells, bow-mounts for trolling motors and T-tops are also available. Like all Northstar’s, VEGAS are made exclusively with CSM (Hypalon) tubes for added durability.
AXIS
Northstar AXIS Tenders have been developed to answer all the critical needs for a functional, ergonomic, and performing yacht tender. AXIS RIBs are offered in 6 different lengths between 3.2m and 5.3m to fit a variety of swimming platforms and garages. Benefiting from Delta-lift hull shape with integrated delta tabs aft, all AXIS models plane very easily and offer an extremely dry ride. Standard features include hydraulic steering, CSM (Hypalon) tubes, built-in fuel tank, pop-up cleats, an extensive electrical system with auto bilge pump, navigation lights, and USB charging socket.
ORION
The Northstar ORION series have stepped CAT-B hulls designed by British naval architect, Adam Younger, providing the ideal combination of efficiency and seakeeping. Carrying on the NorthStar tradition of attractive but minimalist designs, ORION sets the benchmark for mid-range cruising RIBs, with industry leading features such as ‘Tapered Steps’ to improve performance and handling throughout the speed range, with enhanced turning and handling characteristics.
ION
ION High-Performance RIBs are for those seeking higher cruising speeds while retaining excellent seakeeping characteristics. Designed by Adam Younger, ION RIBs offer the latest in stepped-hull geometry. The ‘Evo 2’ hull provides a very high level of stability at high speeds and is built using vacuum infusion for unparalleled strength and lightness. ION RIBs span three models; ION 10.5, ION 12 ‘Eclipse’ and the ION 12 ‘Solstice’ capable of speeds in excess of 80 knots.
